Rumors about Monadliath and its inhabitants
General rumors
It is said that magi from the covenant were responsible for the death of a royal knight.
The magi from Monadliath have traded large amounts of vis that does not come from a registered source. Even though the magi themselves promise that the vis are from various adventures, rumors say that the covenant actually has a hidden resource of vis that they don't want to register. Maybe it's because the source is located on an other covenant's grounds.
Monadliath is situated in a magical regio.
A unicorn is said to live in the forest surrounding the covenant. Peasants see this as evidence for a gateway to Fairieland.
The McKenzie covenant invited every distinguished Roman magician for Christmas in 1168. That has caused rumors that their affiliation with the Highland side during the extra tribunal in 1170 was deceiving. Some say that even the members of house Flambeau attended the Christmas meeting. Many Highlanders would surely go to great lengths to find out what was said during the meeting.
Rumors about specific characters
Willicanus moved from the Findhorn covenant shortly before an investigation about diabolic involvement at the covenant was initiated. The investigation hasn't come up with any proof yet but rumors say that Willicanus knows more of the matter than he would like to admit.
A fisherman's daughter in a nearby village has born a child and Willicanus is said to be a possible father. The woman herself doesn't say anything but the family seems to have got it much better after the rumor spread.
Rumors say that Eustace and Willicanus were responsible for the burning of a Scottish monastery.
Penthevs has shown a great interest in the covenant's relations with the local clan chief McPherson but rumors on Monadliath has it that he is actually more interested in McPherson's daughter than relations with McPherson himself.
During the warfare in Wales against the Blackthorn Covenant, Penthevs seemed to know more about the enemy than would be expected.
Penthevs must have been under hard pressure during the extra tribunal in 1170. He voted with the sigil of fellow member Kristina of house Mercere and Mercere don’t usually cast their votes on tribunals.
